Casing Pipe and Upset Tubing
A casing pipe is rarely the product pipe, and is simply used in order to create a bore. This type of pipe is most commonly used to protect utility lines over short distances. The casing pipe may be installed in sections and then welded or threaded together immediately prior to installation.
The diameter of a casing pipe is usually between 4 to 55 inches in diameter, although there have been successful installations of casing pipes as big as 150 inches in diameter.

Upset Tubing is a long tubing joint which is installed in a wellbore to facilitate the extraction of oil and gas. It acts as a conduit, through which the produced fluids or gas get transmitted from the bottom to the surface. Tubing joint is relatively a single length pipe that can vary in length anywhere from 25 to 30 ft. This ideal length allows easy production as the tubing joint is fitted with threads on both sides and can run down through a well of any depth. Like most tubing equipment, tubing joints are designed to suit a certain well type, based on the underground conditions and fluids.
