Mazier Core Barrel Sampler For Geotechnical Drill Soil Sample
Mazier Core Barrel Mazier core barrel shows shoe cutting projected in front of the core bit Mazier's automatic core barrel is designed to obtain undisturbed core samples in highly soft soils. This core barrel has a spring inner tube assembly. When drilling in soft formations, the lifting core case overhangs up to 50mm in front of the bit, and acts as a cutting shoe. The soft core is protected from water. When coring in harder materials, the spring inner tube is loaded under pressure and the inner tube retracts, so now the core case assumes a normal position. PVC coreliner is used inside the inner tube to maintain the core, and a "basket" catcher can be used to prevent soft materials from slipping out. This type of core barrel is widely used in parts of Europe and Australasia and is reported to provide 100% recovery in soft formations, such as sand, silt and marls. It is available in a hole diameter of 101mm (core 74mm) and can be used in conjunction with T2-101 and T6-101 core barrels which are more suitable for hard rocks. The 74 mm diameter core obtained with mazier is compatible with commonly used laboratory triaxial testing equipment.
Mazier Core Barrel
