The T6-101 impregnated diamond core bit is designed to be used on a wide range of rock formations. This kind of drill bit is equipped with Diamonds that are infused or fused with a matrix. Through continuous use, the matrix will wear away at the same rate that the diamonds become dull and round, exposing new, sharper diamonds in the process.
The T6-101 is capable of accomplishing its tasks due to the combination of its diamonds and matrix. This permits a simultaneous erosion of the diamond and the matrix, thus giving the bit a self-sharpening effect.
Impregnated Diamond Core Bits are manufactured with very small, high quality syntetic diamonds mixed evenly through a metal alloy matrix. The matrix erodes away at the same rate as the diamonds become worn and rounded, which expose new sharp diamonds that continue to cut through the rock. In most geological formations, impregnated drill bits are considered more economical to use than others.
